Managing Director, John Moon explains how Edison Ford quickly became evangelizers of Skype: "We were so excited we sent out an email and set up a website area, inviting our clients and business associates to join our network and talk using Skype for free. We had many replies from customers letting us know they already use Skype, and lots of other clients and colleagues who have whole heartedly embraced our recommendation."

However, for Moon the biggest business benefit of Skype has been the time saved through ease of use. "Being able to see when colleagues and clients are online has meant we no longer waste time tracking people down and the instant messaging function means we get an immediate response to urgent inquiries."
Moon and his colleagues have also begun using Skype video, which has been a great help in having 'face-to-face' meetings with associates being based abroad. "It is impractical for us to meet with all our overseas clients and contacts, but the telephone can sometimes feel far too impersonal. Video conferencing adds a new dimension and is the next best thing to a meeting. In fact I recently conducted a job interview with a candidate in Poland, which worked very well indeed."
